Epilogue - here we start!

Thailand

It took us about half a year of planning, a lot of reading and learning in order to execute this trip. This is a trip with children which is:

  • Challenging

  • Expensive

  • Requires mental flexibility and quick retrieval

How to begin?

First of all, book flights!

After we chose dates that suited us, we got down to business and started looking for the flights that suited us. You can use websites such as KAYAK and SKYSCANNER, and after you have found the flights that suit you best - you must book them directly from the airline. This can help you a lot later. We flew with EMIRATES with a "short" but quick stop - in Dubai.

when to fly?

I heard quite a few voices that we "don't travel in season" and "it's raining". We chose to travel between August and September, and discovered the advantages of traveling to Thailand off-season:

  • Some of the domestic flights are empty and not loaded

  • The attractions are empty and there are no queues

  • There is no congestion in the hotels

  • That's right, it's raining. But at least for us - it was for half an hour - an hour and then the sun came out.

We've got the plane tickets, what next?

We decided to start our trip in the north, which means we have to book internal flights. Here too, you should use the sites I mentioned earlier, but order directly from the airline. For internal flights, we used the services of the airlines BANGKOK AIR, VIEJETAIR, THAI SMILE.

Hotels

There is a huge selection of hotels, and lots of agents who will offer you lots of offers. I worked mainly with BOOKING and AGODA (where I got excellent and cheaper deals than BOOKING). I also used the PRUVO services that once the reservation is made, they constantly check and if there is a better price for the same room - they send an email with an offer for the same room - at a cheaper price.

In addition, I discovered that many times it is more profitable to contact the hotel directly and book through them directly - the price differences were huge.

General Information

Electricity in Thailand is 220V

Cars can be rented

There is western food for both children and adults

Some of the menus are in English in the restaurants

Most hotels provide bottled drinking water, in the bathrooms teeth brushing is done with bottled water and not from the tap.

There is no limit on the number of people riding a scooter. At the peak we counted 5 passengers.

Before you start, all the links that appear on the blog also appear in this post.
