Day number 7 - arriving to Phuket

We got up in the morning for another excellent breakfast, and I called to find out when the CHECKOUT was. Apparently, since we are in the OFFSEASON (August-September), the room can be vacated by 12 noon.

We lazily got organized, packed our bags and set off.

The navigation software showed us about an hour drive to Ma Doo Bua.

What is special about this restaurant? Basically, it is near a water source, or maybe a colorful egg, with huge leaves in it. You can take selfies there or sign up for photos on a boat, which are taken with a professional photographer/glider.

You read that right, a picture for 4 people with a drone, NIS 120 (1200 baht).

Because we arrived at 2 o'clock and the queue for the photo shoot at an exorbitant price was only at 4 o'clock (so those who are interested, you should reserve a head seat...). I decided to drink and eat something small and continue on my way.

So we sat and ordered and waited.

The clock had already struck three, and the dishes showed no signs of being on their way to the table. We asked what was going on with the order, and then they came to check with us what was missing (like, everything?).

We noticed that we had things that we didn't order at all and they probably put them in the order by mistake. So we asked that things be expedited because how long can you sit and wait for the food....

They saw that we were a bit angry so they sent us a portion of seasonal fruits to the table, a nice gesture on their part.

In the meantime, my dish actually arrived and was not bad...

After that we waited for the order of a chicken sandwich that we ordered for one of the girls, without sauces. And really he came to the table...

without chicken

We just got 4 slices of bread with a salad on the side... We called them again for the umpteenth time and asked how it is possible that a chicken sandwich comes out without... chicken... They also couldn't say, maybe it's a wing award.

A few minutes later, a chicken breast arrived on a separate plate and combined excitingly with the sandwich.

To top it all off we got another 10% off the whole bill because they realized they kind of messed with us. Personally, I don't know if it's worth the stop...

But hey, we got a great picture from there!

We left from there towards the hotel and arrived in busy Phuket, with cars and motorbikes traveling from all sides in all directions, and giving the right of way is an option that does not appear on the menu. So those who have a hard time with driving, abroad and more on the other side - think twice about traveling with a car in Phuket...

Right before we arrived at the hotel, we looked for a place to put the laundry and found a nice place located about 100 meters to the right of the hotel exit. We put the dirty laundry there (NIS 47 for 9 kg) and arrived at the hotel.

The 4POINTS Phuket Hotel is located on Patong Beach in a central location, on the beach and the feeling is that you arrived in Eilat in the middle of August. The hotel is a bit crowded, Israelis everywhere, but at the same time we felt that they try to maintain a high level of service starting from the check-in stage and even with the help of parking with the car, at least 4 people directed me to a free parking space in the hotel parking lot...

The problems started a little later...

We arrived at the room and discovered that we were missing a bed for the child. We called the reception where they asked us to add money (?). I went back to them to show them my order, and my email correspondence with them. That we need another bed. They said sorry and sent a whole team to install another bed in the room.

In the meantime we discovered that they had prepared a surprise for us in the second room (we booked 2 rooms with a connecting door) and this is what we found there...

It came with a nice birthday cake!

After the kids had a little splash in the pool

We decided to go out and eat something outside, but then we discovered that the windows don't close. Called the maintenance guys who came with headlamps, worked for a few minutes and fixed the wayward window.

We went for a walk in the streets of Phuket. The infrastructure is not always good and more than once we found ourselves walking on the road surrounded by motorbikes and ATVs....but in the end we arrived at Pistock's home restaurant (and again, maybe they have an agreement here with the educational institution....I don't know...). We ate a delicious meal of real Israeli food, which included hummus shawarma and other vegetables...

Everything was delicious and reminded us that we will soon be back in Israel.

We were tired from the trip and decided to try to return with a tuktuk that was just passing by on the street, and this was the result....

(And yes, it was much louder than it sounds....)

We settled in the hotel, each in his bed, for a day of shopping - in Phuket...
